Having lived in the borough for 26 years, I have not once encountered a "problem" with foxes. With a large, wild-ish back garden and a fairly "open door" policy, I am well-qualified to comment.
I feel privileged to spot these beautiful and shy creatures in my garden occasionally and it is delightful to catch mother and cubs playing.
Foxes are an invaluable asset, as they will eat just about anything and rather than bag up leftovers to be wasted and in binliners, creating more garbage and adding to landfill quotas, would it not be a more intelligent approach to simply er ... leave the food out for the foxes?
I feel sad for these petty-minded anti-lifers who only feel safe in an antiseptic, concrete world with no messy nature to disturb their drab and clinical perspective on life; something essential is missing here.
Perhaps they will be happy when the only connection we'll have left with disappearing natural world will be via television, museums and zoos. These people are on the wrong planet.
Wildlife is vanishing; I encourage all who read this to feed the foxes, birds, squirrels and rare hedgehogs too.
Welcome to planet Earth: stop littering the world with your verminous thinking and make a contribution to life.
