Molesey Boat Club’s Andrew Triggs-Hodge and Tom James go into the final six weeks of preparation for the Olympics knowing they have work to do to strike gold this summer.

The pair, racing in the men’s coxless four in the Munich World Cup regatta at the weekend, were beaten for the first time in World Cups this year by a resurgent Australian crew on Sunday.

They claimed silver – after being pushed hard to qualify from their semi-final – in their final international race before the 2012 Games and they admitted the next month could contain some blood, sweat and tears.

“We are still part of an incredibly successful GB squad. Now it’s the same as always,” said Triggs-Hodge.

“We go away to training camp and will put in the hard work and attention to detail in the six weeks before the Games begin.”

James added: “It’s frustrating, but there’s a lot more work we need to do. It was a tough race to qualify and maybe that took more out of us than the Australians.

“But they’ve been a better crew than us this week.”

Fellow Molesey men James Foad, Greg Searle and Moe Sbihi claimed bronze in the men’s eight, while club mate Cameron Nichol – and partner Nathaniel Reilly O’Donnell – came third in the B final of the men’s pair.
