Another long trip to deepest Kent brought a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sittingbourne for Corinthian Casuals but they will not be in the Ryman Division One South drop zone for long if they keep playing like this, writes Nick Overend.
They could have taken the lead in the first minute but Andre McCollin could only clip the ball over the bar from six yards.
Jamie Byatt also missed a good chance, and then the home side took control.
Despite this Casuals looked sharp on the break, with Byatt a constant threat.
But they paid the price for failing to take any of their opportunities when Sittingbourne capped a dominant opening to the second half with a 58th-minute strike that proved decisive. Casuals finished with four up front but could not fashion an equaliser.
Saturday brings yet another league visit to Kent, to take on Ashford.
