An angry mugging victim has hit back at the criminals by putting up posters to warn others and help catch the criminals.

Emilly Farrar, 25, an events organiser, was targeted in broad daylight by two youths outside the British Flag pub, in Culvert Road, Battersea, at 11.30am on June 30.

The muggers whipped her phone away from her ear while she was congratulating her sister on her 2:1 degree result, as she made her way home from a supermarket in Clapham.

Police were called, but the youngsters escaped and have not been caught.

Several of her friends have also been mugged nearby so Miss Farrar decided to create posters warning others of thieves operating in the street.

She has also teamed up with the British Flag pub, inviting victims to post notes there to help track down the culprits.

Miss Farrar said: "I am overly cautious when it comes to walking home in the dark or if I’m under the influence of alcohol, so I believe the reason I was targeted was because I had an innate feeling I was safe walking down the street in the daylight, so I let my guard down.

"How I felt and feel now - sheer anger, more so than I have ever felt about anything.

"Angry that I can no longer trust strangers, angry that I share a community with the people that jumped me, angry that a man in his car watched it happen but wouldn’t make a statement for the police as a witness, angry that it has happened far too often in our area and still there is nothing to show the community are working towards stopping it from happening."

In the poster she describes the thieves as aged 16 to 18 years old, wearing black hoodies and cycling mountain bikes.
