Outdoor table tennis tables were due to be unveiled in five Elmbridge parks this week.
Elmbridge Council installed 10 outdoor table tennis tables in the parks as part of the Elmbridge Celebrates festival.
Locations for the 10 tables include Cobham, Churchfields, Lower Green, Molesey Hurst and Long Ditton Recreation Grounds.
Mayor of Elmbridge Councillor Janet Turner officially opens the tables from 4pm to 5pm at Molesey’s Hurst Recreation Ground on July 12.
Councillor Jan Fuller said: “The outdoor tables will be key in providing a lasting sporting legacy in Elmbridge and I encourage everyone to make the most of this great opportunity.”
Following the launch, to inspire people of all ages to pick up the paddle, free coaching sessions will be available from Monday, July 23, until the end of August. Visit elmbridge.gov.uk/2012 or call 01372 474568 for details.
