Two women from Battersea are preparing to run through the Swiss Alps for charity.
Sally Ede-Golightly and Amelia Jeffery are getting ready to run 26 miles through the mountains in aid of the British Skin Foundation.
The 26-year-olds will embark on their journey on July 28 to support the charity, that raises funds for skin cancer and skin disease research.
Ms Ede-Golightly said: "We decided to run for the BSF as we both have family that have suffered from skin cancer and we wanted to be able to support them through research into the disease."
Her companion used to be a cross-country runner but said she had never done anything like this.
"Sally and I have known each other most of our lives, and our families both live in Guernsey, within 10 minutes walk from each other, so it made sense that we could both fundraise for a cause we believe in," Miss Jeffery said.
The race is one of four taking place that day, all of which are part of the annual Alpine Challenge.
As the girls manoeuvre their way through the range, they will reach heights of 1,700 metres.
The two aim to raise at least £1,000 for the charity, and they have managed to raise over £830 so far.
