Foodies can tuck in to a two week food festival designed to tickle not just the taste buds.

Balham Food Festival sees a range of food-inspired events taking place in the area.

Restaurants will also be running special officers to coincide with the festival, such as two for one deals at Hop & Spice and set menus starting at £15 in Meze Kitchen.

On July 19 an open mic night is taking place in Alter Ega, in Balham High Road, where diners can enjoy a jerk barbecue while enjoying the performances.

Coffee shop M1lk in Bedford Hill is hosting a speciality coffee evening on the same day, where visitors will be trained in basic brew methods and barista skills.

From July 19 to July 22 the festival will tie into the London FolkFest and what better way to enjoy it with food and acoustic music in The Bedford.

Guests can buy fresh produce from the Balham Farmers' Market in Chestnut Grove School, Chestnut Grove which is on July 21 and 28.

And fans of organic food can taste a range of specially sourced products from As Nature Intended in Balham High Road on July 22.
