They may not have made the Olympic squad, but talented local athletes could be in line for an Epsom and Ewell Sports Awards.
Athletes, parents, clubs, coaches, volunteers and teams can nominate their local sports star for the awards, now in its second year, which have been organised by the council in partnership with Epsom and Ewell Sports and Leisure Council.
The awards ceremony will take place on October 2 at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
The winners will automatically be put forward to be shortlisted for the Surrey Sports Awards in December. Surrey winners may then be put forward for other regional and national awards, including BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Councillor Jan Mason, chairwoman of the leisure committee, said: "The sports awards are a chance to celebrate and recognise local sporting prowess, from talented athletes through to committed volunteers and pro-active clubs.
"2012 is a special year for sport in the UK and Epsom and Ewell Sports and Leisure Council are keen to develop a local legacy to honour the passion and talent within the borough."
