A dedicated scout volunteer has been chosen to carry the Olympic torch.
Malcolm Mckee, from Ashtead, will carry the flame through Barking and Dagenham on July 22.
He was chosen for his inspirational work with the scouting movement within Surrey.
The 37-year-old leads the First Ashtead Gardiner Scout Troop and organises a wide range of outdoor events around Ashtead for his and other scout troops.
He has also run a survival camp for scouts and recently qualified to lead kayaking events.
Mr Mckee said: "Scouting has provided me a once in a lifetime opportunity to carry the Olympic torch.
"I am massively excited about it and grateful for being rewarded for doing something I love."
