Sorry to do this this, but I have to start by saying the weather has been a little on the damp side. “You don’t say,” I hear you cry.

The thing is, I don’t mind the rain when I am indoors snuggled up in my PJs with a cup of tea and a cheeky Digestive (preferably chocolate), but it is not so good when you have planned an emergency trip out to stock up on nappies and baby milk.

Annoyingly that is exactly what happened.

The heavens suddenly opened and a month’s worth of rain fell in about five minutes.

Not great, especially when there is no shelter for you and your baby.

Luckily the lovely folk in Boots let me loiter as we waited for my better half to come and fetch us.

He had no choice really as it was he who sent us out with his less than accurate, “it’s not going to rain until later this afternoon” weather update.

I learned a valuable lesson from the experience and the next day drove into town to do some shopping (and also took an umbrella with me as an extra precaution).

I take my hat off to women who can lose their pregnancy weight in a flash, but I for one still do not fit into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes.

I thought it would be nice to pick up a couple of bits before my one pair of jeans disintegrates before my eyes – some retail therapy.

It was one of those days. Nothing looked good. Nothing fitted.

And I realised once and for all I hated fitting room mirrors.

It could have been raining inside for all I cared. It was depressing – only an ice cream could help topped off with a bag of cookies.

I hate jumping on bandwagons but I am going to have to.

With the added chores with a baby and trying to juggle emails, texts and post, horrid weather and tiny changing rooms, it has to be done – here I come internet shopping.
