A Weybridge company presented two charities with cheques totalling £66,000.
Irwin Lee, managing director of Procter and Gamble, presented the cheques to Epsom-based Meru and Freemantles School for Autistic Children, Woking.
Both were chosen by Procter and Gamble because of the company’s focus on support for children through its corporate cause Live, Learn and Thrive.
Meru designs and make equipment specifically for disabled children.
The £33,000 donation will allow it to build six award-winning Bugzi indoor wheelchairs, which enable children aged one to six to experience independent mobility, often for the first time in their lives.
Ben White, three, demonstrated how he used his Bugzi at the cheque presentation on Tuesday, July 17.
His parents said it had made a huge difference to him and allowed him to play with his friends.
Mr Lee commented: “I am proud that Procter and Gamble is so committed to supporting local charities and I’m delighted that our Weybridge employees have raised so much money for two wonderful local causes, working so hard to improve the lives of children.”
