Residents will be spoilt for choice by leading chefs when the Kingston Food Festival kicks off next month, writes Laura Proto.
The festival, running from Monday, August 6, to Sunday, August 12, will play host to the Big Food Market and the Live Food Show in the town centre on the weekend of August 11 and 12.
The Live Food Show runs from 10am until 5pm on both days, and each chef has 45 minutes to prepare and cook a meal that will then be offered to audience for their opinions.
The UK’s most highly-qualified wine science expert will also be attending the festival to talk about how the wines of the world are evolving and to provide a series of wine master classes at The Ram, Kingston.
Belinda Kemp, a doctor in viticulture and oenology, said: “I was keen to do wine masterclasses that included wines that people might not know about and promote our very own locally produced English wines as well.”
