A millionaire property developer, who is married to Sir Michael Caine’s daughter, was accused of giving false evidence to the High Court after he accused a debt collector of being an underworld enforcer.

Michael Hall, a millionaire property developer and husband of the actor’s daughter Natasha, failed in attempt to win a restraining injunction against, Kevin Fox, whom he accused of calling at their Wimbledon Village home in an attempt to carry out threats.

Mr Hall said Mr Fox, a convicted gunman and bullion thief, made an unsolicited visit to their home in Lauriston Road, on February 29, which was “very, very upsetting” for his wife.

Mr Fox, 45, was Mr Hall’s former business partner and it was alleged he was carrying out threats in a bid to recover a £67,000 debt, the High Court heard last week.

But on Thursday, July 19, Judge Richard Seymour QC criticised Mr Hall for telling “straightforward untruths” about Mr Fox after comparing him to a “gangster” who made his wife’s hair “began to turn white.”

In dismissing the case, Judge Seymour said Mr Fox's "behaviour was perfectly civilised" and that he had not uttered the threats alleged.

He added: "I am afraid Mr Hall's untrue evidence and his lack of candour caused me grave concerns as to whether I could rely on anything Mr Hall said which was disputed.

“Unhappily I reached the conclusion that I could not.”

Mr Hall ran from the court hiding behind a newspaper after the judge’s verdict, while Mr Fox said outside court: “I don't want to say too much but the judge found against Mr Hall's evidence."
