A man was arrested today on suspicion of stealing ice-creams.
The 21-year-old is suspected of taking a box of Magnum ice creams from the Co-op store at Rosehill.
The man was spotted by officers on patrol near the Rosehill roundabout. He was carrying a box of white chocolate Magnums.
As they pulled up alongside, the man darted quickly into a pharmacy shop. Officers followed and found a discarded Magnum ice cream box which contained only two of the three ice creams in the box.
Minutes earlier the same man had been seen by police eating an ice cream in the street.
The man was arrested at 12.13pm on suspicion of stealing the box of ice-creams.
He is in custody currently at Sutton police station.
Today is predicted to be one of the hottest days of the year, with temperatures hitting 29 degrees celsius in London.
