It is being billed as the alternative festival of the summer, not only that, it’s in arguably the most picturesque part of the country, but being an ardent Yorkshireman I would say that.
After last year's totes washout, this year's Beacons Festival is keen to banish the unhappy memories of what nearly was.
Beacons 2011 was supposed to be the inaugural festival, but a deluge of rain put pay to that and organisers pulled the plug, shame that plug wasn't in the middle of the dales.
The Moor Music Festival, the last of which was in 2010, has had a re brand and a makeover, and it appears to have worked.
Gone are the straw chewers and potato sack wearers and welcomed are the check shirt clad roll up smokers.
The line up is one of the best of the summer for new music as well as welcoming a few legends of recent past.
Perennial Reggae stalwarts Toots and the Maytals will be nothing less than Sweet and Dandy on the Sunday evening, where as Friday welcomes UK Hip Hop impresario Roots Manuva.
The festival begins on Friday, August 17 and ends on August 19.
Among the stellar artists performing on Saturday are highly rated newcomer and Mercury Music Prize-nominated rapper Ghostpoet, aka Obaro Ejimiwe, followed by festival favourites Wild Beasts.
If scuzz Americana-esque rock is more your thing, say hello, if you haven't already, to Leeds' Hookworms, who perform on Sunday, along with London's Mazes and Cleveland USA's Cloud Nothings.
Miami's Jacuzzi Boys are my personal favourite of that genre and will take the stage on Saturday.
Friday welcomes Stoke Newington's Veronica Falls and ghost pop pioneers, and real-life couple Peaking Lights, Gross Magic and Cass Mccombs and quintessential perennial brits Wave Pictures, now about to release their 12th album.
Needless to say, its a cracking line up.
If you've ever been to The Brudenell, Shacklewell Arms, Club Pony, Bungalows and Bears, Field Day, or any Now Wave or Eat Yourt Own Ears Nights, or even flick through the Stool Pigeon, this is for you.
Beacons is a three-day, four-night festival and for a short period, tickets are available at just £60 for the weekend, including camping (£55 for students).
But you can get your hands on two tickets if you answer this question correctly...
