An art teacher is set to take to the road on a solo charity bike ride lasting two-and-a-half weeks.
Nathaniel Fowles, 37, from West Molesey, will cycle from John O’Groats, in the highlands of Scotland, to Land’s End, in aid of Cancer Research UK on August 2.
The Reigate Grammar School teacher will travel the popular 900 mile (1,448km) route via the north-west and west Midlands.
Personal reasons have driven him to fight for the cause, with a target of £1,500.
Mr Fowles raised almost £800 last year for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research at the Blenheim Triathlon.
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.
He will be keeping an up-to-date Twitter blog detailing the events of his journey.
