Sporting Background: Bill rowed originally at Dart Totnes Rowing Club, in Devon, and he credits his first coach and mentor Will Hawkyard with much of his early success. He was discovered through the GB Rowing Team's Start Programme in 2004 and in 2005 he rowed in the GB junior quad at the World Junior Rowing Championships in Brandenburg, finishing 5th.
