Sporting Background: Gordon took up judo aged 13, and gained his black belt just three years later. He has cited his first coach, Simon Hicks, as his biggest influence on his career.
He Says: "Third time lucky? If I can come away with a medal, I will. As long as the fire’s still burning. Once that flame goes, that’ll be the finish of me. I’m getting on now, and obviously there’s a few youngsters coming through trying to nick my place. But as long as I’m still firing, nationally and internationally, I’m going to keep going."
We Say: "After a long career spanning more than decade, this is probably Gordon's last chance to get a medal - a gold in last European Cup means he is on form to achieve his dream."
