Bombay Wok in Hounslow is winning lots of new fans with its deliciously authentic Indo-Chinese cuisine.
This modern and sophisticated restaurant, which opened earlier this year, specialises in the fusion of Indian and Chinese cuisine – or hakka fusion - that is so popular in Bombay, or Mumbai as it is now known.
Few people realise that there is a sizeable Chinese community in the Indian city, where Bombay Wok Head Chef Steven Lee learned to cook. His mouth watering menu bring the best of this Asian fusion to diners in Hounslow, using the freshest ingredients cooked with secret spices to create unique dishes and flavours.
“We want to introduce this famous and loved cuisine and bring back a lost dining experience to Hounslow,” said owner-manager Jackson Pereira.
“It’s a unique gastronomic experience using perfectly blended ingredients and spices.”
To start diners can choose from an impressive range of cocktails, including a spectacular Bombay Breeze, featuring Bombay Sapphire Gin, cucumber and elderflower (£6.50). There’s also a Shisha Bar where you can relax before or after a meal.
We couldn’t decided between the Szechuan seasoned vegetables or the Chow Chu Calamari before opting for the Szechuan chicken Wontons, which were really tasty.
The flash friend lamb and beef, chicken rolled in five spices and honey or the sweet and spicy fish looked really tempting for the main course. But we chose delicious Chilli Chicken (£7.25) on a bed of noodles. The friendly staff are happy to help diners choose a dish and the chef can cook any vegetable or meat on the menu with any sauce on offer to order. To compliment the meal we selected a bottle of the house red, Hardy’s Riddle Shiraz (£11.25) from the extensive wine list.
The Bombay Wok team are highly experienced in the food and hospitality industry both here and overseas. They are happy to advise and take bookings for dinner, lunch, parties, event s or celebrations. And with the average bill coming to around £14 or £15, the restaurant offers excellent value for quality food and service or takeaway.
