Molesey Boat Club's Moe Sbihi has insisted the Team GB men's eight is in its best shape yet to medal at the London Games.
Sbihi - alongside fellow Molesey men Greg Searle and James Foad and Putney-based cox Phelan Hill - is in the eight crew which starts its 2012 Olympic campaign in the heats tomorrow morning.
And the Surbiton 24-year-old is only focused on one thing.
"I feel like we have definitely improved since the last World Cup and I feel we are in a good place going into the Games, " he said.
"But it’s a very strong field, to be honest, anyone can make a final and anyone can make a medal.
“So I think it’s all about us effectively. I’m not really fussed about what the Germans or the Americans of the Canadians or others have done. It’s about what we have done and I trust in what we have done."
Putney-based Bill Lucas and partner Sam Townsend go in the double scull heats tomorrow, while fellow Putney resident Matt Wells is in mens quadruple sculls crew.
Molesey man Geoff Nash also starts his campaing in the men's pair tomorrow with Will Satch, while clubmates Andrew Triggs-Hodge and Tom James start their men's four campaign on Sunday.
