Team GB men's eight rower Alex Partridge reckoned the crew's repechage triumph puts them in a strong position to medal in Wednesday's final.
Molesey men Greg Searle, James Foad and Moe Sbihi were in the engine room of the boat that beat Canada, the Netherlands and Australia in Monday's repechage.
They finished second in Saturday's heat meaning they had to take on an extra race to qualify.
And Partridge, a silver medallist in the men's eight in Beijine, said: "I think we have taken a lot away from today, I think we have learnt something.
"If we had won the heat the other day and not raced this repechage we wouldn't know what we know about ourselves now.
"We will take that into the final."
