Xcel Leisure Complex is the first site to hold mash-up football sessions in Surrey.
The sessions take place every Monday for 10 weeks on the centre’s state-of-the-art 3G synthetic pitches.
The nationwide event will help young people in Elmbridge improve their skills, hone their technique and enjoy the beautiful game in a safe environment.
Working with the borough’s schools, the mash-up is for boys and girls aged 14 to 17 years.
Xcel jumped on board with the scheme and its 3G pitches have been shaken up by the new format.
Stephen Brown from the FA said: “The FA Vauxhall Youth Football Mash Up programme will really help us tackle the issues that are currently affecting the 14 to 17 age range.
“We really believe the programme will open up football to a whole new audience of teenagers, whatever their ability or fitness level.
“We hope this is the first step in getting those that are disengaged back into affiliated football.”
