Two Kingston Athletic Club and polytechnic Harriers members will get up close and personal with Olympic athletes after being selected as technical officials for the 2012 Games.
Brenda Ford, a track judge, and Peter Shilling, a starter, will start work helping with the track and field athletics on Friday.
Throughout the games the duo will work in the Olympic Stadium call room putting athletes through important checks, making sure they are wearing the correct clothing, not displaying any illegal advertising and have the right numbers.
Mr Shilling said: “To be involved in any part of the Olympics is an honour. To be on home soil is incredible.”
