A teenage girl fell down some stairs and got her leg caught between the banisters this morning.
The 17-year-old fell in one of the Waterloo Cottages on Wrythe Lane, Carshalton.
The fire brigade had to use special heavy duty equipment to spread the metal banisters apart.
The ambulance crew were called just before 8.10am and the girl was taken to St Helier hospital.
