A celebration of the great outdoors is taking place in New Addington on Saturday.
Woodfest, which celebrates the woodland heritage of Birch and Rowdon Woods, will be held on Saturday August 4, in Lower Ruff Field, off Mickleham Way.
The event is run by youngsters who have been part of the Heritage Lottery-funded Youth Forest project.
There will be puppet-making workshops, woodland drama, craft stalls, face painting and the chance to have a henna tattoos drawn.
There will also be a climbing wall to test the more adventurous.
Councillor Phil Thomas, cabinet member for highways and environmental services, said: "New Addington is lucky to be surrounded by some amazing countryside and woodland.
"Thanks to the council successfully bidding for money from the Heritage Lottery Fund the young people who have taken part in this project have had a great experience.
"This day is going to be a fantastic opportunity for them to show others what they have learnt."
Woodfest runs from 11am until 4pm, and more details are available from Suzy Strudwick, Croydon Council’s forest project manager at suzy.strudwick@croydon.gov.uk.
