Singing legend Tom Jones entertained at an evening of horse racing and raised £12,000 for a leading children’s charity.
The event, which included a champagne reception, collections and a charity auction, raised money for The Children’s Trust in Tadworth at Sandown Park Racecourse last month.
The charity auction raised £8,400, following a moving speech by 15-year-old Charlotte Pickering, who received an intensive rehabilitation programme at the Trust in 2008, after sustaining a brain injury.
Charlotte and 10 other children from the trust were thrilled to meet the singer before the concert.
