Croydon Athletic 0
Stevenage Borough 1
A gallant display by the Rams youth team saw them take Academy side Stevenage Borough to extra time in this FA Youth Cup tie.
Stevenage enjoyed more of the early possession, but it was Athletic who looked the more likely to score.
James Brown hit a 30-yard effort wide on 14 minutes and Brown turned provider soon after, but Moses Ademola just failed to connect a header.
Stevenage's first shot on target came after half an hour but Danny Firkin was more than equal to Zak Burke's low shot from the edge of the box.
The second half continued in an entertaining fashion with both sides having chances but failed to make them count as the game went to extra time.
Stevenage broke away in the 99th minute and Romayne Thomas scored the decisive goal.
After this the Athletic legs wilted badly and but for some good saves by Danny Firkin, Borough could have added to their total.
Croydon Athletic: Firkin, Nicholas (Williams), Bartley, Phillips, Wadmore, Warren (Ross), Earle, Brown, Jackson, Ademola, Hatfield (Gibbs).
