Croydon FC 3
Tunbridge Wells 1
Croydon FC made easy work of bottom of the table Tunbridge Wells on Saturday by securing a comfortable victory.
The three points sees the Trams move up to ninth in the Kent League Premier division and are well positioned for a promotion push.
Despite the relative ease in which Croydon won the game, they did not have things all their own way.
Wells' Dave Blundell poked the ball home in the seventh minute to give his side the lead and the visitors were unlucky not to add to the early goal in a good spell of pressure.
But the Trams gradually took a stranglehold of the game and eventually equalised six minutes before the break.
Confusion between Wells defenders Jason Bourne and Jim Simpson allowed Neil John to nip in and make it 1-1.
Lee Kirby made it 2-1 to the Trams in the 58th minute before Tim Murdoch rounded the scoring off by firing home a loose ball.
Croydon Athletic 1
Molesey 2Croydon Athletic did not have a game on Saturday and therefore missed the chance to bounce back from their midweek defeat at home to Molesey.
It was another disappointing night for the Rams, who fell behind in the seventh minute courtesy of a Phil Ruggles strike.
Ruggles made it 2-0 minutes before the break to all but end the Rams' hopes.
To make matters worse Athletic were reduced to 10 men on 63 minutes when Gareth Graham was sent off for a bad foul.
A late consolation goal by Charley Side at least made the scoreline look respectable.
