The Croydon 10k provided some remarkable performances on Sunday, with Kenyan John Kimaiyo taking the top prize in a time of 32 minutes and 18 seconds.

The 31-year-old Belgrave Harrier moved away from the 610 strong field with consummate ease to win the mens title.

Croydon Harrier Jon McCallum finished behind the Kenyan in 33:35, followed by South London Harrier Natalie Harvey, who became the first female runner to break into the Croydon 10k's top three.

The 31-year-old international, who recently changed her allegiance from Australia to Britain, stormed to a massive victory over second placed woman Emily Nelson (Epsom & Ewell Harriers).

Harvey's fellow South London Harrier Ray Marriot completely dominated the veteran 40-49 category to finish fouth overall in 33:49.

Race organisers Croydon Harriers provided the winners in both the girls and the boys 3km junior races, as well as the U20 category of the full race.

Jordan Maurice (13), Elliott Veheary (12) and Scott Fanner (12) took the top three places in the boys' 3km, while Emma Barlow (13) was the leading girl.

Ben Robson (15) held off close competition from George Thatcher (17) to win the U20s category in 37:18.

Further winners were Epsom & Ewell Harrier Barry Broe in the men's 40-49s, Hercules Wimbledon's Dennis Williams in the 60-69s, Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers Andrea Green impressed in the women's 35-44 category and South London Harrier Lois Curtis in the 45-54 group.
