A cyclist who was killed following an accident with an Olympic bus had recently moved to Wandsworth with his girlfriend.

Dan Harris, 28, died while cycling home from work after colliding with the bus carrying media workers to the Excel Centre on Wednesday.

Mr Harris, who worked for an online printing company, moved into a flat in the borough with girlfriend Cecilia Dominici in February.

Last night Miss Dominici, a social media manager, posted a photograph of the pair on Twitter and said: "My silly English boy, the love of my life, my boo. I don't know how to live without you."

Tributes have been paid to Mr Harris online, describing him as a keen cyclist.

Last month he even tweeted: "I've taking to loudly boo-ing #cyclists who jump red lights. They give the rest of us a bad name and should be publicly shamed."

Colleagues at web printing company moo.com gave a statement describing him as a popular, entertaining and a much loved member.

It said: "There are no words that can truly express how much we’ll all miss him, and his infectious enthusiasm, warmth and passion for life."

Former flatmate Chris Creature wrote: "My old mate Dan Harris got knocked off his bike by one of the Olympic buses and sadly killed. In utter shock.

"It's mental, known him since 2002, he was one of my best mates flatmates, in utter shock."

Police are appealing for information following the accident which took place in the junction of Ruckholt Road and East Cross Route, Stratford, close to the Olympic Velodrome.

A post-mortem is expected to take place today, with an inquest opened at Poplar Coroner's Court yesterday.

The 65-year-old driver of the bus was arrested at the scene on suspicion of death by dangerous driving, and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

After winning gold in the time trial Bradley Wiggins called for new road safety laws and said it should be the law to wear a helmet.

Campaigners have also claimed the accident was almost inevitable, after a cycle path around the site was closed forcing cyclists to use roads.

A memorial cycle is planned to take place on August 10.
