A fire raging above a shop has been put out by fire crews.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on the second floor of a three storey building just before 2pm, in Putney High Street.
It was under control by 2.18pm after 10 fire fighters tackled the blaze, which took place above clothes shop United Colors of Benetton.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "The fire was brought under control very quickly, and thankfully only a small part of the flat was damaged by the blaze. No injuries were reported."
The road was temporarily closed off causing chaos to commuters.
Twitter user musical_laura posted: "Please avoid Putney High Street. There's been a fire above one of the shops and the road is chaotic."
Ian Weir posted: "Fire on Putney High Street, hope nobody is in there."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
