A man who was growing £3000 cannabis in his bedroom has been sentenced.
Stephen Frost, 53, has been fined £80 for production of cannabis at his home in Douglas Close, Wallington.
He was sentenced at Croydon Magistrates Court on July 31 after pleading guilty and was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
The drugs seized by police were ordered to be destroyed.
Officers from Beddington south safer neighbourhoods Team discovered seven cannabis plants being cultivated in a tent in the bedroom during a drugs warrant on July 21.
They also found a small quantity of herbal cannabis in a cannabis grinder in the same room.
Frost was arrested at the scene and told police that the cannabis was for his own person use.
Officers had been acting on information received from the local community.
Community police teams in Sutton are working closely with registered social landlords to evict drugs related offenders for being in breach of their tenancy agreements.
