A drink driver caught behind the wheel of his boss's van nearly four times over the drink drive limit has been given a community sentence.
Kevin Davison, 48, of Carshalton, was in a van that had been found crashed into two parked cars in Titchfield Road, Carshalton, on July 14.
Croydon Magistrate's Court heard Davison was so drunk he could barely speak.
When first tested he had 130 mg of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal drink drive limit is 35mg per 100ml of breath.
Davison told police he had been at a party and drunk six vodka and cokes.
When he woke up the next day he told police he could not remember driving the vehicle.
The van was in an adjacent road to his home.
Magistrates told him: "With that level of alcohol in your blood, goodness knows what could have happened.
"You are very lucky you have not ended up here for a far more serious offence."
Davison, of Titchfield Walk, pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without third party insurance.
He was sentenced at Croydon Magistrate's Court on Monday.
