Images of two men wanted in connection to a brutal unprovoked attack on a man as he got off a tram have been released by police.
The assault outside East Croydon station in the early hours of Saturday morning left the 32-year-old victim with a fractured cheekbone and a bleed on the brain – he remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
His girlfriend and mother were with him, and it is believed the 32-year-old, from Norbury, was attacked after refusing to give a group of youths a lighter.
A pair of teenagers from Wimbledon were arrested shortly after the incident. A 14-year-old was later charged with grievous bodily harm and will appear at Croydon Youth Court on August 13. A 17-year-old was bailed to return to police on September 3.
Detective Sergeant Bob Stokoe, said: “Our investigation into this callous attack is continuing and after examining CCTV footage we’ve now identified two further men we want to speak to.
“If you recognise either of them and think you can name them, please get in touch.”
