"There are shops that are struggling and because of the recession commercial rates are going up, but they can't leave their shops because there are no jobs for them to go to. Some have had some money through, others have had none, a number of people are struggling.
"The council say they are waiting for this £23 million from the Mayor but the Mayor is very busy after the election, and now with the Olympics. When is he going to open his generosity? We don't know.
"I am not exaggerating, there is nowhere I can see that anything has been done.
"In the early stages people blamed the rioters, but they also blamed the police. Now the police have admitted they made a mistake and have apologised, which has given people a lot of comfort.
"London Road was fantastic when the Olympic torch came, everyone was shouting Croydon, Croydon. They love Croydon and the turnout showed people do care about London Road."
