Carl Neilson, the owner of Rockbottom music shop, said it has been a tough year after his business lost £500,000 from the riots.
Mr Neilson, who has owned the shop for 35 years, said: "It has been an absolute nightmare really. I am just trying to hang in there with what I have got.
"It took nine months for the shop to get up and running again as it was just devastated. We had to get the contractors in. It takes time to put everything back again.
"We were shut from August last year to April this year and it is a long old time. "Financially it has been a strain as we still have to pay bills and chase up the insurance company. They were not forthcoming at the best of times.
"It wears you down emotionally as well. Most of the stock went and my own personal guitars. We definitely suffered around £500,000 worth of damage and that includes stock."
