A murder hunt was launched on Monday when a man who collapsed and died in an alleyway was found.
The 50-year-old man was found by a resident in an alleyway at the side of a house in Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, at around 6.16am on Monday morning.
Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to the area by the resident and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time Croydon CID said they were treating the death as suspicious after reportedly finding unexplained bruises on the man's body. As a result, scores of police and scene of crime officers cordoned off the property and began combing the area for clues.
However, a postmortem later found he had died from natural causes.
It is thought he suffered a heart attack.
A police spokesman said: "The death is now being treated as non suspicious. Therefore the death is no longer being investigated by Croydon CID."
