Now that free travel has been allowed for children and teenagers is it not time to re-introduce conductors or some sort of travel inspector to control the hooligan element?
Recently a crowd of teenagers boarded the tram at Gravel Hill, the number three tram was late so the seats were quickly occupied and many people had to stand throughout the journey (including parents with young children and the elderly).
The young teenage passengers made the journey hell for everyone, there was swearing, rude abuse and pushing. One lady's shopping was trampled, which they seemed to find amusing. An elderly man was continually prodded and ridiculed.
One old lady was reduced to tears (that delighted the teens) and in desperation someone phoned the police - who of course did not come.
It seems to me that it is time some restriction was placed on travellers that want to cause trouble, they need supervision.
