The Old Boys put in a determined performance to take the honours in this fierce encounter.
They were losing 17-3 at the half way point of the first half but a battling display earned them a pass to the next round of the Powergen Junior Vase.
Keelty pulled OWs back into the game with a well merited try before the forwards rolled over for another score just before half-time to make it 13-17.
A Keanie try gave the Old Boys a one point lead with a well taken try from a wide pass by Marshall before Both teams were tiring in the last quarter but the OW forwards continued to dominate and gave their opponents a hard time in scrum, lineout and maul.
Inevitably they took the ball over the line yet again to earn a more comfortable lead of 23-17 and substitute Harper put the icing on the cake with a fine break round a maul to score by the posts.
Todd ,who had played his usual hard running game from full back, broke his duck with the conversion.
But Farnborough were not dead and put in a spirited finish resulting in a last minute try for their flanker Angel.
