Purley's 25th Scout and Cubs had cause for a double celebration when both won their district swimming galas.
The scouts overcame last year's disappointment of missing out on winning the title by just two points to claim the trophy for the first time since 1959.
And the Purley cubs followed the example set by their older counterparts to win their gala and lift the trophy for the first time since 1962.
Barbara McKinnon, who leads both the scout troop and cub pack, said: "To win the scout trophy was brilliant as we have been so close in recent years and our young people deserved to be successful. To win both on successive Saturdays was just incredible.
"We are so proud of them all and to do the double as we approach 2007 and 100 years of scouting makes it very special."
