The hunt is on for Streatham’s favourite businesses, as Lambeth Council tries to shine a spotlight on companies are loved by their customers.

The competition, organised by South London Business in conjunction with Lambeth Council and with funding from the London Mayor’s Outer London Fund, seeks to find Streatham’s most loved businesses.

For the first time this year Lambeth Council is holding the awards in Streatham. The winner will receive a certificate and automatically qualify for the favourite business category in the Lambeth Business Awards.

The top three companies will also get a free business review from a business expert.

Councillor Jackie Meldrum, deputy council leader and cabinet member for employment and enterprise, said: “Streatham is home to a number of innovative and exciting businesses that are rarely given the recognition they deserve. This competition will highlight the ‘best of the best’ so I urge local businesses to pick up the phone and enter this competition.”

Angelina Purcell, Streatham Town Centre said: “We all have our favourites and this is your chance to shout out loudly for your favourite business. So get voting and support your town centre.”

The closing date for entries and votes is 13 January 2012. The winner will be announced at a business reception in Streatham at the end of January.
