Pantomime season is not over for one primary school in Morden, whose annual tradition has included includes former parents and pupils taking to the stage for a quarter of a century.
Hatfeild Primary School, in Lower Morden Lane, had its Saturday matinee performance of The Yellow Brick Road, on February 9, which was visited by the mayor of Merton, Councillor David Williams, also a former pupil.
Caroline Crown, who helped organised the five performances for the school’s association, said: “Pantomimes by members and friends of the Association have been a great success for over 25 years at the school and are a much loved tradition in the local community.
“The cast includes children from the school, parents and former pupils and parents.”
The lead role of Dorothy was played by Caroline Morrison, a former Hatfeild and Raynes Park High School pupil who now attends the prestigious Brit School in Croydon.
Many of Britain’s leading entertainers have studied at the Brit school in recent years, including Adele, the late Amy Winehouse, Jessie J, and Leona Lewis.
