Shadow secretary of state for work and pensions visited New Addington at the weekend.
Rachel Reeves, MP for Leeds West, joined Croydon’s Labour leader councillor Tony Newman and candidates Louisa Woodley and Oli Lewis at the New Addington centre.
They were talking to residents about Labour’s job pledge, which looks to guarantee work for the long term unemployed.
Labour Leader Councillor Tony Newman said:“Rachel Reeves MP is good friend of Croydon and met with local people to talk about our plans to work with local firms to encourage them to bid for Croydon Council contracts.
“We are delighted that Hammerson and Westfield are coming to Croydon and we are determined to ensure that local people benefit from all training and work opportunities.”
