Plans for a £50m redevelopment of Lambeth College’s Brixton centre have been submitted to Lambeth Council.
If the plans are approved, the outdated 1960s building the college currently occupies in Brixton Hill will be replaced with a state-of-the art technology centre.
Extensive social and support facilities for students, a central atrium to display work, a cafe, garden and social area, and an external games court and fitness centre have been included in the plans.
The redevelopment of the Brixton Centre comes hot on the heels of the transformation of the sixth form centre in Clapham Common that opened earlier this month.
Both form part of the college’s £100m investment programme.
The application will be considered by the council over the coming months.
