Kit Malthouse, deputy Mayor of London, congratulated students at Burntwood School, Tooting for taking part in the second London Schools Hydrogen Challenge.
The competition encouraged 11 to 14-year-olds to find out more about hydrogen technology, one of a range of less polluting fuels that could help to improve air quality and cut carbon emissions.
