Top artist and Royal Academy member Eileen Cooper dropped in to Alexandra Infant School on June 24, to help the pupils with their creations as part of the school’s arts week.
The talented exhibitor, whose paintings are currently on sale for £15,000 at the Royal Academy summer exhibition, which she helped co-ordinate, spent time with year 2 pupils working on acrylic paintings of their favourite circus animals.
Elsewhere in the week, Tate Modern-exhibited artist Sarah Richardson spent time with the nursery and reception classes making felt and creating a huge artwork by making stitches in orange nets, film negatives and ring pulls and joining them together with opened paperclips.
Artistically talented parents also did their bit during the fun-filled week, which was paid for the school’s PSA.
