Kingston College student Kate Winskill has been named as the winner of a project to design a unique scarf for sale in Bentalls.

This year it was decided customers would decide the winner of the Bentalls Scarf Project, as opposed to a judging panel made up of buyers for the store.

Kate Winskill had it all stitched up with her English country garden design, which won after selling more than the other students.

She said: “It was wonderful of Bentalls to give us the chance to present our work directly to the customer, and the fact that people wanted to buy our scarves was fantastic and is a real impetus to keep designing.”
