Green-fingered business brains helped to transform a Lambeth school garden last Friday.

Volunteers from EDF Energy created two edible herb beds and a new flower bed at Glenbrook primary school in Clarence Avenue.

The work was carried out thanks to social enterprise group Progress, which helps facilitate days where private sector volunteers transform inner city green spaces.

The day was one of many recently organised by Progress in the borough’s schools, including Christ Church Streatham Church of England primary school, the former school of Progress director Simon Ghartey.
