Children from Shawley Community Primary School learned some watery facts when they paid a visit to the Bough Beech water treatment centre in Edenbridge.
The pupils from the Epsom school were the guests of Sutton and East Surrey Water to learn more about the journey the water takes from the reservoir to the taps in their homes.
The trip included a walk through the vast concrete tunnel underneath the reservoir and a visit to each stage of the cleaning process.
The children also learned about the wildlife, especially the birds, that live at the centre.
