A summer challenge to inspire kids to get around the borough using green transport was launched by Smarter Travel Sutton.
The award-winning scheme will see about 13,000 schoolchildren receive a pack called the Green Travel Tracker, with a diary and the chance to collect stickers if they walk, cycle or use public transport.
The pack will hold details of all the summer’s green travel events as well as cool travel facts and competitions. The first event is a theatre performance about walking and cycling that will be touring schools throughout July, Car Less Talk, with The Momo theatre company.
Smarter Travel Sutton is a three-year, £5m partnership between Sutton Council and Transport for London (TfL) that aims to cut congestion on the borough’s roads and promote sustainable transport.
